Bat nose/tail art on Grumman A-6 Intruders. 1968+ Bat in front of lightning bolt, bolt crosses the entire rudder, rudder is white.
1969+ Bat on shield in front of lightning bolt, bolt crosses the rudder, rudder is white.
. 1969 Bat in front of lightning bolt, with lightning bolt limited to within the boundaries of the shield. Different rudder colors?
1975+ Anatomically correct caricature of an attacking bat on a white rudder. Tail code skewered by lightning bolt.
1975+ Anatomically correct caricature of an attacking bat on a black rudder. Lightning bolt crosses entire rudder, behind the bat.
. . Circa 1984? Anatomically incorrect bat (i.e., wings are on backwards). Tail code skewered by lightning bolt in most of these images.
Three of these Intruders have the bat silhouette + lightning bolt motif just behind the cockpit.
